DIY Press for Champagne Frame

After seeing replica's of this go for up to $50 on Etsy...I said..
"I can TOTALLY make one for under $20!"

So I set out to find my materials…the buzzer in the middle being the only thing I had to order…anyways..here is the easiest tutorial ever…

Materials Needed:
Vintage Buzzer or Doorbell
(Search on Ebay!..I got mine for $12)
Frame of your choice
(mine came from TJ Maxx for $6)
Hot Glue
Printed image to fit inside frame
Picture Hanger for backing (if necessary…which is was for me)

So for $18…($19 if you include the little hanger for the back)..I made this cute vintage looking "Press for Champagne" frame..you can actually press the button too!

  3. How cute...does your hubby bring you champagne when you buzz? Thank you for sharing it at What We Accomplished Wednesdays.

    Have a happy day!

  4. Kelly, this was a fabulous tutorial and I linked to it from my own blog, where I explore the origins and history of the Press for Champagne emergency button. Check it out if you get a moment.

Great find and this would make such a unique DIY gift for the right person. Maybe you should talk to Darby Smart about converting it into a DIY kit for sale? :)

  6. Hey Kelly!

Thank you for sharing this. I'm also planning to make one but I'm having troubles to find a buzzer that actually rings. Does that one you used make some noise?

    Have a great day!

    1. Mine does not make a sound...it's just for decoration. However, I'm sure you could make one that makes a sound for a bit more money.
